Rotoscoping Animation Test

Animation test of Nelson’s Column appearing in a cloud from a postcard landing on London. This was rotoscoped from CG footage from Maya with added human touches such as wonky broken up lines. This is the first in a series, more will be added to this test -> how to make the clouds more animated?? Swooshy lines…..

More rotoscoping work on my cargo website here.

Trippin Stickmen

Character animation test to experiment with the stickmen/architectural people/blobs to try out how they can be rigged and animated. This is my first stab at interaction between characters, think the fall needs to be faster. More stickmen drafts to come…

The movement of the triangular shaped character called “Richard” is based upon a pogo sticks motion where it scrunches up at the bottom as it jumps from one spot to the next.

Sarky The Stickman

Character animation test, built and rigged in Maya. This character option is based upon the architectural drawing of a person that my friend Sarky used to put on all his sections to scale them, this is the first in the series which I’m drafting for the AFH animations. Just a short clip of him walking. I’ll let the lil dudes fight it out shortly in their own test animation to help decide who’ll get put in the final animations…

Excuse the weird foot flick at the end I forgot to fix that.

Ivy Vine Growth – Plant Test

A quick animation test of ivy vines growing around Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square using paint fx. This piece of work is part of the concept for (re)greening London which featured in a quite a high number of ideas for IPP, such as the additions of new parks, farmlands and rooftop parks/communal spaces/animal habitats.

Balloon Inflation

Animation test inflating and deflating a balloon attached to some string. All surfaces are ncloths, the balloons are based on the beach ball preset and the string on the denim preset (the less stretch of the string the better to constrain the balloons in place).

AFH Pre-vis for Opening Shot

Shot from the first draft of a pre-vis animation to promote Ideas on a Postcard, Please. The shot starts in Oxford Circus following the mobile garden, onto a street fair, added greenery and public gardens on rooftops then followed by flying umbrellas landing across London (that pre-vis bit’s in progress). The umbrellas flying across the rooftops of London will be used to link up different shots across the capital. Or the red ball that just rolls around the streets.

In the animation (yet to be modelled/textured/animated):

Green = Garden

Red = Moving Objects

Orange = nCloth/Rigid Bodies
