Ice Cream and Custard Pies Factory – Model Photos

Finally got around to taken photographs of a 3D colour model we made after finishing our Masters in Architecture. It’s a model of an architectural project that I did with fellow Westminster graduate Bongani Muchemwa which was our first building in the final year of the course. View the animation that accompanies the project here .

Drawn in Microstation/AutoCAD and 3D modelled and UV mapped textures in Rhinoceros. The thin nature of the structure (based on scaffolding) measures 2mm at this scale which pushed the materials used to their limit. The model is made from plaster of paris printed on a 3D machine with colour and covered in epoxy resin to give it strength. It measures around 1m by 1.5m, and was printed in several 20cm x 20cm x 18cm sections.
